Dopp Kits

I just wanted to follow up on my post about razors with a mention of my dopp kit. These little carry bags are a great place to store your travel razors - and I need to add some travel shaving cream or jel in mine, because when I went away for the holidays this season, I forgot the shaving cream.

I tried using soap, but ended up with a bad case of razor burn. Ouch! I even used a brand new razor but it didn't help.

Gillette versus Schick Razors

I've always been a Gillette man, ever since they sent me a razor when I turned 18. Recently, however, I've tried a couple of Schick razors, and I have to say that they are a lot nicer that I expected.

My loyalty to Gilette has been wavering for two reasons:
1. They are no longer a Boston based company.
2. The newest razor, the Gilette Fusion, blades wear out faster than the old Mach III blades. In fact I like the Mach III much better than the Fusion. (Read my review of the Gillette Fusion here.)

I got two Schick Razor's for free as samples, and I'm very pleased. I might even switch to them permanently. Which do you like better?
